NOTE: After loading the firmware you need to do Factory Reset on the unit for the new firmware to be applied. How to upgrade firmware: WARNING: DO NOT upgrade the firmware with a wireless connection. You will damage the router. Also, your current settings may be lost after upgrading. Step 1 Download the firmware at http://www.dlink.com.au/tech/ and save the file to your computer. Do NOT run or try to open the .bin or .au file. It will not work. You will load the file through the router interface. Step 2 Open your browser, enter the IP address of your router (10.1.1.1) and click OK. Step 3 Enter your username (admin) and password (admin), which is the default password. Click OK to enter the web configuration for the device. Step 4 Click on the Tools tab and then the Firmware button on the left side. Click on the Browse button and browse to the .bin file you downloaded in Step 1. Highlight the file by clicking on it once and click Open. Click Apply. It will take a few seconds for the upgrade to complete. Step 5 After the router reboots, close your web browser and reopen it. Enter 10.1.1.1 to reconnect with the web configuration. Enter username "admin" and password "admin". Click OK. Step 6 If you have problems with the web configuration at this point, unplug the power to the router, wait 10 seconds, and plug back in. Repeat step 5. If this did not help, perform a hard reset on the router. To perform a hard reset, use a paperclip and press the reset button on the back of the unit for about 10 seconds while the device is powered on. Wait untill the router will reboot, the status lights will start blinking. Repeat Step 5. HOW TO FACTORY RESET THE ROUTER: Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit. Step 2 With the router powered on, press and hold the Reset button. Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds. Step 4 Release the Reset button. Step 5 The device is now at factory defaults.
